I FLEW MY OWN PLANE!

After YEARS without a plane, I FINALLY got my own plane up in the air SOLO. We (Gerry and I) started the day both flying in it together. After some radio problems were fixed Gerry told me to go fast taxi it and if it feels like it wants to fly just idle back. Well it did want to fly even though I was going about 20mph slower than when we where dual. It started to lift off the runway so I throttled it back and floated it back down (only got about 5 feet off the ground). Gerry called me on the radio and said looked good that was exactly what he wanted to see me be able to do. He asked me to come back and cut the engine. I did that and he asked how I felt. I felt confident and he said go for it. I did as he asked and got 4253G off the ground and in to the pattern. It was much more bumpy at 1000 ft than it was on the ground so I stayed close. I brought it in for a landing and taxied back for a warm congratulations from Gerry and Melvin (the Surf City police officer who was watching). I took it back up and spend a little more time in the air. I got it back down and taxied it in and put the covers on. In all the excitement I forgot to have anyone take a picture so here are some from when it was covered before I left.
